The settlement of Vas County received city status in 2001, according to the data of the last census in 2015 it has about 2,600 inhabitants. The town of Répcelak has an excellent geographical position, as the main road 86 runs through the settlement and it has a direct exit and access to the M86 motorway, which is on the Mosonmagyaróvár-Csorna-Szombathely-Zalalövő-Rédics section and offers its electrified railway line convenient public transport on the Hegyeshalom-Csorna Szombathely route. Szombathely can be reached by car in about twenty minutes, by train and bus in forty to forty-five minutes.

The Ferenc Móra Elementary School and Elementary School of Art in Répcelaki has well-trained teachers, modern specialist classes, comfortable classrooms, a gymnasium, a sports field, an artificial turf field, a library, a day-care center, and a kitchen and offers excellent conditions for effective educational work, development, helping those in need and promoting talent. In 2007 the school became a certified artistic college in the fields of music, education, industry, and dance in five departments.
